ReplyDeleteIf you guys are just checking the page I would really like for you to follow it. Here is some information to get us started.
ReplyDelete1. The DEADLINE
-I am modifying the deadline. We need to make a spread schedule and adjust the timing accordingly.
-The deadline for the title of the magazine will be Monday 5/17 at midnight. If no one responds it will remain "The Visual Voice."
-I would like to know if someone has started the cover for the magazine. It will be due Friday 5/21 at midnight and I would hope that a few of them would be submitted for a vote.
-Pages 1-4 should be done by 5/28
-Pages 5-8 should be done by 6/4
-Pages 9-12 should be done by 6/11
-Pages 13-16 should be done by 6/18
-Pages 17-20 should be done by 6/25
-Pages 21 - finish should be done by 7/2
-Revisions Edit 7/5
-Final Edits Complete by 7/9
Suggestions are welcome for adjustments but for now this is the running schedule.
I would like it for all of you to join this blog as a follower and start the conversation about getting the magazine going. I will be posting information about the process of the magazine on here from today and into the future.
ReplyDeleteFirst, we have yet to decide the title of the magazine. The deadline for the title will be Monday 5/17 if there isn't any discussion posted the magazine will maintain the name "The Visual Voice".
Second, I would hope that someone has started working on the cover page for the Magazine which would be hard to do without the title. This will be due on 5/21. I would also hope that there would be more than one submission so that we can have a vote on it.
Third this will be the schedule for our pages with a final @@ DEADLINE @@ *revisions can take place with discussion*
PGS. 1-4 due 5/28
PGS. 5-8 due 6/4
PGS. 9-12 due 6/11

OTHER IDEAS:
- A monthly Visual Voice Newsletter “Monthly Whisper”
- Distribution: a magazine rack at each entrance
Well there are a few ideas I had for a title...
ReplyDeleteTomorrow's Today
(bcuz we are working towards a better tomorrow today)... or 2morrow's 2day (kinda slang)...
E*volve...
Digital Views...
Technical Tomorrow...
Digital PoP...
S.O.D.A. or Seeking Out Digital Advancement
kinda liking the one above...
Let me know what you think...
Oh yeah... Rudy is tachg...
ReplyDelete+1 for Technical Tomorrow- I was also thinking Tech Spreads. I think Visual voice leans away from programs other than VC. Content will most likely be an issue. That being said, I propose hanging up some ads around the school so people are aware that this project is happening. "This can be beneficial to everyone" is how I feel about it.
ReplyDeleteWhat will the dimensions of the book be?
Are we keeping the blue color scheme?
Brad- Are there any ITT pictures or graphics that we might include?
-Mike
Ladies and Gentlemen,
ReplyDeleteI will be emailing some layout designs and templates to Mr. Jordan Cawood. For him and his writing staff as well as to the design team. As we don’t have server space right now I am going to require everyone that want s a vote on these layouts, to please e-mail me at JesseDigman@hotmail.com SUBJECT TITLED: Please send layouts. I will not have time to hunt people down. This ball is going to be rolling soon. @ Cardew, thank you for posting the format and topics, I will try to incorporate this into the layouts using these titles and using place holder text for your team to look at. @ Cawood, please keep me posted on any completed works so my team can then start on the design and pictures, thank you. @ Everyone, thanks for your participation and good luck with your individual projects.
Well the layout is done and emailed out. If you did not receive and e-mail please send me and e-mail SUBJECT TITLED: Please send layouts. to jessedigman@hotmail.com. The file is pdf and IND4 project folders. Again if anyone has a problem with the files, corrupt for some reason shoot me some mail and I'll ship it back out to you. I will also have these files on me at all times so if you see me during school hours feel free to grab them that way as well. Looking forward to feed back!! thanks.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks okay with the layouts Jesse. Things will most likely change based on the images and copy that you receive but it's a good start on the layout.
ReplyDeletePages 1-4 are due this week how's the copy coming along. All copy should be turned into Jesse Digman via email on Thursday.
The title of the Magazine never really was established. Thanks for the ideas tachg. I want everyone to make a vote.

Did we officially come up with a cover image? Are we planning on using a stock photo? Rudy...have you come up with a logo for the mag? If so shoot it to my email (same as class). I am willing to jump in and get the cover done so Jesse can focus on the first couple of pages by the deadline.
ReplyDeleteIt's official we are sticking with "The Visual Voice" for the name of the magazine. Rodolfo please create a logo for this as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteI would like for everyone to be working hard during the break so we can make some progress.
Thanks to everyone who has shown an effort I appreciate your work and enthusiasm for the project.
VC100, did you get any responce to your questions?
